Wallis and Steevens 10 ton firebar pattern

Hi,

We need to borrow/ loan a firebar pattern for the above engine if anyone has one they are willing to part with for a while?

Thanks

Joe

Have you got a pic of it?

You could make a pattern for a firebar relatively easily. I plan to make some for the robey.

You could make steel ones, thats what I did after having cast ones burn away and block the gap!

I did that with our 6 ton Advance which has a fire something akin to a blast furnace, they have lasted 10 years so far without a blemish.

If you have them cast they need to have nickel added to stop them burning.

Have a pattern down here in NZ. Can measure it up if that helps?

Hi Joe
I have 3 patterns for the middle fire bars
Give me a shout if this will help you, you will probably need to measure the length.
Scott has my contact details.

Hi colin,

Length is 25 1/2" and the width at the thickest parts at the end and middle is 1 1/8" but I don't mind this slightly thicker as I want the gaps increasing slightly anyway. I shall get in touch with Scott and get your details.

Joe
