Portsmouth Victorian Festival

This years token presence of road steam was ably provided by the Wakelin's Marshall 'Victoria' and Tim Watson's excellent model Burrell

Not sure how well 'Frederick' steamed with the smokebox stuffed with food but Tim was still steaming round the dockyard throughout the day

Thanks for the pictures Richard. The AGA casserole dish doesn't affect steaming too much because it is well shaped for the smokebox, which is pretty deep. Not exactly strenuous work though, moving around dead slow in second wheel. We fed three adults and a child today!

Isn't arson in HM's dockyards a capital offence?

:)

Some other steam interests were also in attendance.
There was our 3" Fowler showmans' with living van and ride, and steam hauled rides on a splendid 10" gauge railway.
