Miniatures at Forncett Steam Museum
TT members with miniatures are warmly invited to Model Engineers' Day at the Forncett Steam Museum in South Norfolk on Sunday 5th October.
This will be our 22nd annual event. We usually have two or three miniatures running around in the yard, but would love to see more. (Especially since I have risen to the status of owner of a 4 ins Burrell!) As well as a comprehensive display of model engineering, the museum's collection of large industrial engines will be in steam. See: http://www.forncettsteammuseum.co.uk/ Personal invitations and entry forms will be sent out shortly, so please PM me an e-mail address if you'd like to join us. Bill PS A link to the thread about Bacton Hall - Ronald Clark and his father, H O Clark, built up a significant collection of historical model engines in the 1930s. The last twelve of these are now on display at Forncett. |
Forncett Model Engineers' Day
Come and join us on 5th October in south Norfolk. Full details, invitations and entry forms now ready - just ask me. Several miniatures already promised.

I would love to come but as I told the chap who was working there when he suggested it it's a bit far from Rugby for a 1day event.

Phil, you could always make it part of a longer visit to the far east and enjoy some of the other attractions of Norfolk! I'm pleased to say we've already been promised some (miniature) examples of the work of the premier traction engine builder, who just happened to be based in Norfolk, also a waggon very much like a Sentinel. Still room for a few more though.

Bump.
Six miniatures entered so far, mostly of the famous local make! There's room for a few more in the museum yard. Bill. |
Only a few days till Model Engineer's Day at Forncett on Sunday 5th. We're expecting a dozen road steam in all scales from 1 ins to 12 ins to the foot. Also a wide range of steam and other models, from a working Newcomen engine to radio controlled boats on the pond. Plus, of course, the museum's big engines in steam.
You're welcome to join us for an end of season social day out with added steam. (www.forncettsteammuseum.co.uk approx. 6 miles south of the A47 Norwich by-pass) |

Can someone get some pictures and post? I was hoping to go to this but stuck the other side of the Atlantic this year.

Yes please to pictures. I plan to take lots, but there are many better photographers and cameras on here.
