Probably a Stupid request but worth a try!

Hi all,

i was just wondering weather anyone has any steam engine to sell for a maximum of 2K. I would like a portable for this money but i think i would be pushing my luck! anything considered. (miniature or full size)

thanks
Chris

If you don't ask you don't get!

i'd start saving because your 2/3rds of the way there, you'd get a knackered portable for 3-4k

I've seen knackered bigguns for £2500

Keep saving and searching...

There was a big, big Marshall sold Gloucester-way last year for £850 I believe. Mind, it was properly goosed!

miniature needing work is more than possible but maybe not a portable harder to find.

I have a 10hp Marshall which is all in pieces. Mostly there. Boiler needs work, but it is a British engine as opposed to an import.
Please pm me, and we can maybe discuss.

It was around the 8-10nhp mark. I was told that it was an 'English engine' (rather than a repatriated example) and on the plus side it was apparently pretty much all there.

It was a steal, IMHO, I doubt very much that it would have needed any more ££boiler-work than a £4000 or £5000 example.
