2014 1000 engine rally

DISPITE ALL THE RUMOURS THAT THE 1000 ENGINE RALLY IS NOT ON THIS YEAR PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS ON

Just out of curiosity ,why is it called the "1000 Engine Rally"?

1000 engines

1000 stationary engines; always used to be "Tatton" 1000 engine rally when I was a boy and used to have around a 1000 engines. I'm not sure if it's still that popular.
