PENNY

Sorry this is not a steam related item.

Has any TT member got an old penny they would be willing to let me have, I am trying to complete a project for a relation in the USA.

Wanted. 1942 1d PENNY

I am most willing to pay for said penny plus postage etc.

I have tried all summer at events to find this one, I found others which I wanted for this project but not this one.

Thanks in anticipation.

Arthur

Got to be 1942?

If you have a 1933 old penny, I'll have it!

You may struggle with that one:

The Penny
The first design was issued from 1937 to 1940, and then from 1944 to 1948. All these dates are common. During 1940 the exergual line was doubled. Pennies struck between 1941 and 1943 were all dated 1940.
Between 1944 and 1946 the tin content of the bronze was reduced from 3% to 0.5%. Because this alloy tarnished unattractively these coins were artificially toned before issue.

They did Ha'pennies & Irish pennies in 1942 but can't find any images of a 1942 penny

Yes we all know that, you are so tight that you haven't even spent your pocket money from when you were a kid!

How old do you think he is??!?

My thanks to Buzzy Bee, Yes it needs to be a 1942 for a special date.

Thanks also to SDSPS for all your information, a 1942 Irish penny would be acceptable.

Thanks to all the interest

Arthur

Are 2 Half Pennies any good?

Alternatively there are many Commonwealth 1942 Pennies on Ebay.
