Brown & May Event

5 Attachment(s)
Well done to Michele and the team at Devizes who put on such an extraordinary display of Brown & May products and engines to mark the 100th anniversary of the works closing. The weather was stunning and it could not have been better. A few photos of the occasion and a big thank to all the owners who brought engines from all over the country to make this special event happen.

Is that a Brown & May threshing machine on the left? Does anyone know who owns it please..?

hedge 16th July 2013 09:12 PM

the threshing box is a Nalder & Nalder box which were built for Brown & May to be sold as a set with a brown & may portable but at some stage the workers left Nalder & Nalder due to some sort of dispute and went to work for brown & may direct.

the ex Lackham portable and the Nalder & Nalder threshing box are now part of the newly formed Brown & may trust and both will be re built so they can both be operated and hope fully rallied together.

joe powell's portable is awaiting to have the boiler repaired but is waiting in line as there is another Brown & May in front of it at the moment which needs a lot more work.

hope this has helped answer your questions

regards sam

no problem piers and so every one knows the portable in front of joe's to have work done is the big 10 horse with the dual fly wheels next to the lackham portable. so we will have are work cut out with that one when it arrives as it is as tall as a 7 horse marshall agi on rubbers.

regards sam
