Fig Pie Wakes 2013
 

At the Fig Pie Wakes in Wybunbury, Cheshire, every year children, women and grown men, including the local MP roll pre-baked pies down a hill to see who can get the furthest (farthest?). A good handful of engines turn up. Hundreds of people turn up. The sun shines and English people do what English people do and enjoy a day in the rare sunshine and enjoy a bit of eccentricity. Many thanks to Mark and his family for all their hard work and generosity.

Great pictures of a great event David. And thanks to Mark and family for their superb hospitality and to Tony for the lovely road run. Steam engines, sunshine, beer and friends; a brilliant weekend.

Thank you all for coming along and supporting the do at considerable expense to your selves. A number of locals have stopped me and said how much they enjoyed it. We are getting visitors from all over the country now, in fact we are international - the winner was from Germany. Not sure what Chris and Sam were up to in my caravan though! - it starts here!
