Somerset Traction Engine Club's New Year's Day Gathering and Road Run, Jan 1st 2013
 

Somerset Traction Engine Club's New Year's Day gathering - the 25th according to my reckoning - at the Sedgemoor Auction Centre, on A38 just off Junction 24 of M5 between Bridgwater and North Petherton. Gates open at 9.00am, run itself at 11.30. Possible steam attendance - Mike White usually brings one of his engines - and normally about 400 entries of all kinds.

Well John my engines are still full of water! I've been trying to dodge the frost so I should get something out on New Year. Anyone else brave/stupid enough to bring a steamer??

Just driven the routes. Most roads clear apart from the A361 Glastonbury road, closed by flooding beyond Lyng, as it has been, off and on, for some weeks. This is an optional section on our longer route. Apart from that, all systems go as far as I know! Hope to see some of you there....

not steam but we are planing to bring my explorer a matador none of you will have seen before and the ex hinckly point dennis fire engine

Just finished loading up, banked down for the evening ready for tomoz, see all in the am.
