Not doing anything this weekend unfortunately but if you can make next weekend (29th & 30th) there's the Autumn Fairground Weekend at Dingles Fairground Heritage Trust.
Should be a nice little event with about 5 or 6 engines in steam over the whole weekend as well as Garrett 4CD steam tractor No 33818 of 1920 with showland fittings. Registration No BJ 5323. This is one of the 5 engines in the next Kivells sale on the 12th October.

We are supposed to be steam ploughing at Whiddon Down near Okehampton on Sunday - however the weather forecast referes to torrential rain !

Don't forget the Harvest Home event in two weeks time at St Columb Major!

I cannot add anything to what Charlie D has said apart from the fact that the weather forecast is poor. Today was supposed to have been the best of the weekend. i spent all morning wiring up a satellite TV system and it was very cold with a strong wind. I was glad to be able to finish off the installation indoors and I did not venture out again. I have plenty of food, drink and my family around me as well as unread October 2012 copies of Vintage Spirit and Old Glory plus my daily dose of Traction Talk - what more could a man want!!

We didn't even try to get into the field!
Mike Smiths and our BB1's (15164 and 15163) had been left in a nearby farm so we lit them up and loaded them home.

It rained all the time that we steamed and loaded them.

I don't know what it was like at Whiddon Down, apart from what you have already posted, but down here in South Devon it has been stormy all day and now at 0200 on Monday morning it is chucking it down.

We have a 100% reliable weather forcasting system in our house, it is called Titch - our Terrier dog. If she goes in the garden and comes in dry, we know that it is not raining, if she comes in wet we know that it is. If she comes in freezing cold we know that it is time to put the central heating on!. Forecasting system works very well and is very cheap to run.
