Haddenham Steam Rally
'Ely Fire Brigade' a steam fire engine built by Shand Mason in 1912. Still owned by Ely Fire Brigade, the engine is on loan to Prickwillow Engine Museum, who over the past 2 years, have returned it to steamable condition. A few fittings are still required before it will be capable of pumping water.
It made it's public debut, in steam, at the 39th Haddenham Steam Rally 2012. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8042/7...f5106102f8.jpg |
Fantastic things steam FP"s, this one must have remained in service quite late as she is on penumatics unless of course were these fitted during preservation?
Nice looking machine. Jim |
The pneumatics are thought to have been fitted in the 1930's when the towing vehicle was a local lorry.
