Steam Plough Club Great Challenge Cancelled
 

The Great Challenge ploughing match that was planned for 18th-19th August at Chipping Warden has been cancelled.

The efforts to prepare engines, ploughs and other tackle by owners and crews in readiness is much appreciated and Steam Plough Club extend thanks and apologies to all concerned.

We will consider holding this event next year.

A great shame , yet another casualty of the weather .

Yes, a frustrating year. The weather has conspired to set back the harvesting and the field we hoped to have available is unikely to be cleared. Ground conditions could not be determined. Alternative sites were no better. A good number of engines have not had any opportunity to plough this year - including those I am closest to. Let's hope the farmers get a break and can make something of the 'summer' remaining.
