Marshall parts
Hi I am in need of some bits for rebuilding My 7hp compound, namely steering wheel, tender water pocket, reversing lever and a curved spoke flywheel. also interested in any other Marshall parts to use for the Stype rebuild.
thanks Tim |
Hi Tim, What number is your engine please?
|
Marshall engine numbers
John the s type is 83985 a 6hp compound of 1928 and the standard 7hp compound is to the best of my knowledge 45693 of 1906. this was arrived at by a process of elimination with lots of research by David Toyne and and others.

Flywheel.
Greetings Tim,
I am sure I have seen a Marshall flywheel on ebay in the last few days under steam engine. I think yours will be the bigger size, over four feet diameter. Mathew, at Ticehurst may be able to help you as he has lots of "bits." Cheerio Michael Webber. |
"Onward" on here recently made a marshall flywheel pattern for somebody so may well have a pattern in stock.

My engine had two spokes cut out of its flywheel, but we were lucky in finding a genuine replacement from a contractor who use to have a Marshall. Maybe my old broken flywheel could be repaired by a specialist but i am not sure it is worth it. I thought that Robert Crawford did have a pattern for a flywheel. |
Matt do you have any more details? please pm me a contact if you have one.
thanks Tim |
6 & 7 hp use the same flywheel.
|
We have a pair of 6'6" x 20" rear Marshall wheels if anyone is in need of some.
