Tinkers Park Saturday 2nd June 2012
Had a great day yesterday, well worth the journey. Nice to attend a very relaxed rally without all the hi-viz jackets directing people, nice to go to a rally where peoples common sense prevails. I'm sure I speak for all who attended and would like to thank all the organisers for an excellent show. Photo's will follow when sorted.

Hi Arthur,
Great set of photos - thanks for posting them. The Burrell in the last photo is 2298 of 1900 "The Monk". I went to Hadlow Down too yesterday and really enjoyed it. Really lovely setting, and a more traditional type of rally with the engines encouraged to take part in traditional ring events which was good to see. As you say, well worth the journey. John |

The two ploughers in the photos are "Sandringham" and "Windsor", the two that James Lowther used commercially for dredging until the 1990s at least. "Sandringham" was in steam, and "Windsor" parked up by the ring is awaiting boiler work. They are now both owned by the "Claude Jessett Trust Company" in Hadlow Down. |
Thanks John for the information, I somehow missed that I hadn't got any ID information.
Once more thanks again Arthur |
For those wanting to enjoy more of the relaxed atmosphere there are two more events there this year.
On 3/4 August is the Rail Gala with Challoner as the visiting loco this year. Several of the traction engines based at the Park will also be in steam/on display and engine and trailer rides will be available. On 29th September is the Open Day. All the non-steamable but moveable engines are normally also out on display, trailer rides are again available, road making, sawing and winching are demonstrated and there are various visiting engines ready for the Sussex Steam Engine Club road run. |
