Visited on Saturday, and was saddened to see the deterioration that has taken place around the site. Nice to see the Allen looking so smart, but the farm and gardens are in poor condition, and other exibits that once worked and are now sadly idle.

It's fair to say that some things need attention and Hollycombe is very well aware of them! Many of the repairs and restorations done on a shoe string by its pioneers 40 years ago are showing their age and don't meet modern safety standards - which can be very challenging. Looking at the positive though, projects like the Allen, Jerry M, railway infrastructure - and the massive and costly refurbishment of the Razzle Dazzle are going ahead and should have long lives!

What Hollycombe needs, as much as more cash, is more volunteers to get stuck in to the projects like the farm.

So - instead of being saddened, couldn't Bob organise some SSEC members to go along to Hollycombe to help? I'm sure they would be welcomed!
