What was the other engine (roller)? Just off site. Popped down today but couldn't get to it as number one daughter was cold. A lovely site for a rally spoiled by all the caravans etc stuck on the road - oh and the lack of exhibits. Last years event at Wollerton Hall was so good, I appreciate that the weather put paid to much official much of the site and exhibitors but even so. I hope Dave tries again at this site next year.

The layout was far from ideal and a lot was missing, but at least it went ahead without too much hassle. There were a lot of big motorhomes parked up that had just brought one vintage motorcycle a piece which made things look worse but under the circumstances, not a bad event.

David, I agree entirely- good that it happened, shame about the weather though! Great to have steam in the centre of Nottingham!

Cheers

I exhibited a Wolseley engine and dairy memorabilia at this event, the first one of David's that I have done, and it was a shame that the field was too waterlogged to use. Other exhibitor's in 'my' section said that Wollaton had been a great event and this was a poor show in comparison, I had hoped that there would have been more in the way of stalls but I imagine that either the prices were too high or the change of venue (near The Meadows area) put them off? I still enjoyed it though, at least the weather perked up a little for Saturday and Sunday even though the night's were a little chilly!

Pete.

Dad asked me to post this. A friend of his & the gentleman who owns the ploughing engine brought his Narrow boat up to the site. I dare say that when Dad sees this he will elaborate further.

It would be great to use this site to bring in some boats, the event at stoke bardolf several years ago was good in that there were boats, just added a different dimension.

Blimey! Stoke Bardolph! Thats a few years ago now! Was quite a good event from what I recall. Although we did find a the soft spot in the field for jacking the low loader up and an ants nest all at the same time!
