Bronze/Gunmetal Hexagonal Bar
I have a piece of 7/8" hex bar stock length is 7' 4". .
The material is a red bronze and the local scrapyard waved their radar gun at it and gave a rough analysis of: Copper 92.5% Tin 4.5% Zinc 0.3% I'm not sure what exact alloy this is and the best match I found on a quick internet search is coinage/medal bronze. I'm not sure how accurate the equipment is but they seem to trust it even on precious metals. Any way it is what it is. Anybody need this for £130. P.M. me if interested would probably deliver any Welsh Border area or take to show (Tractorworld Malvern tomorrow). . |
I now have a proper test certificate for this material; the composition makes it PB102 Phosphor Bronze:
Copper base, 5% tin, 0.15% Phosphor, Zinc 0.03%. Still available. |
