Hi all

Just wondering can you still buy or does any one have any chalking chisels?

Thanks

I've got a couple of contacts for getting them. Pm me if you're still looking.

If you are looking on line its a caulking chisel you are looking for. Don't get the one for boat builders, as Tony suggested can be made form a chisel

David,

I've a small holdall type bag full here you are welcome to borrow if you need them. Not for sale though.

They are the sort of thing you either have to make, or drop lucky.

Depends on size required, Hedds offer will probably suit you,but they are on Ebay search "Caulking Iron" two on now.

Davy

Assuming David wants them for a boiler, the ship ones are not ideal, though certainly a good start for making some boiler ones.

Thanks guys

Thanks Hedd for the offer. As Tony says you can make out of old chisels, and we have already got a few that we have made for different times that we have needed to caulk up any leaks. But I did borrow some proper ones off our boiler inspector a while back and they where great, ie different ends on them straight small bends on the ends ect and made getting to the area that needed to be sealed up really easy.

The reason for asking is that have had a small fizzle on the foundation ring on the one plougher that we where hoping would seal itself up but know ashpan is off think we will be having a look and sort it out.

Will be keeping my eyes open for some.

Thanks
