GDSF 2011 - Wednesday Pictures

Here are a selection of pictures taken by me today.

The load makes it's way through the site and into the heavy haulage play pen. Spot the webcam on the front of His Majesty:

Burrell Road Locomotive Clinker is back after work, now without canopy:

This photograph is a recreation of one taken during working days of Burrell 3703 Princess of Wales and Burrell 2877 His Majesty. David Ragsdale and Kevin Gamlen, owners of respective engines, are seen with a copy of the photograph below:

Very pleased that the unique Fowler Wagon is in attendance this year, not been on the rally scene for 10+ years:

Another new engine to me is this Foden belonging to the Hirst family:

Burrell 3166 Joe Chamberlain makes it's own way around the playpen for the first time:

The talk of the event is Fowler 17105 Atlas which as had an extensive rebuild and looks like a million dollars:

Can somebody tell me what all thu gubbins (gears etc) are for on the side of Atlas? Is she able to have a crane fitted as there looks to be the fittings for one on the front drawbar area?

Basically yes, the crane came with one of the other B6's, and atlas was ordered so that it could be fitted to it.

I don't think it was a very manly crane though.

Thanks for that, I did wonder how strong it would be!!!

Just got back from two days at GDSF. Lots of engines I hadn't seen before, or newly out which was nice.

Atlas is lovely, JC lovely... but I thought the newly rebuilt Barnes Bros Aveling roller 14001 was one of the nicest engines there, looked spot on.
