Wallace Advance
Hi,
A while back we started looking for a roller then gave up for several reasons. Now after some serious thinking etc we are looking at trying to get hold of a Wallace Advance. Have seen the one on Prestons but looking for one a little more sensibly priced…… Any info or help is gratefully appreciated. Not in a rush want to find the perfect machine if possible. Not worried if work needs to be completed etc. Not too sure what is out there at the current time Thanks guys & girlies Scott |
They were good rollers , but seem to be ' entry level ' engines , which people get until they can afford something more mainstream . I have been told that the 6 ton Advance is an awkward little thing to fire , and may be a shy steamer .

Was that an eight ton at Prestons? How much did he want for it? I think the six tons look v smart.

Advances are creeping up at a pace now, They are one of the most useable rollers around in my oppinion.

I know a man who may be persuaded to part with his, PM me for phone number if interested.

I think Wallis Advance rollers are far more plentyfull !!

Thanks guys, the one at Prestons is a 6 ton but he wants 42k for it! The fact is the same roller was sold at auction just 2 years ago for less than 20k in exactly the same state im told!

yep made 19k and he's not done much to it, the 6 tonners are hard work as its near impossible to fire on the move as the axle is in the way, they've a tiny box too so can be difficult to drive/ steam. had a go on an 8 tonner great bit of kit, but defintly an aquired taste, not mine i may add but theyre quick on the road and were probably cheaper than an aveling and well made.

thanks for that, i had heard that about the 6 tons. We had a good play at the weekend with an 8 ton (thanks to Colin) and fell in love with them.
