steering worm and wheel
 
hi all
am looking for a steering worm and wheel for my 8hp Marshall, I got a wheel but it has a crack and a tooth is brocken! and the worm is missing! I can make a new one but would rathe find a old one! if any one can help?
Have looked at the drawing and it looks like there the same on the 6,7 and 8hp engines.

knowing your a man of great experiance and engineering knowledge chris i think you should try the patent gummy bear method of repair i think this the best way forward for you ;)

You could machine one like i did for the Wallis,was done by gear driving the deviding head off the power feed on the mill.Takes a bit of working out but works well

I did think about cutting it my self, but at the end of the day it comes dowen to time! will make up the blanks and get tham cut at same time as over gears!

Greetings, I have some of these. I understand the wheels were made in different sizes. How many teeth are you looking for on the wheel.
