Lathe

Looking for a lathe in good condition, not bothered if it needs a clean or just quick service but not interested in ones which don't run.

Would prefer a Colchester Triumph but would be interested in others.

Tooling and DRO preferred but not a necessity. Also of a respectable size, not too large or too small.

Budget around £1500

Cheers

Nick

Just bumping this back up, budget can be upped to about £2000 if necessary :)

How desperate are you? I am in the process of upgrading my lathe to a larger one and will then be selling my Triumph 2000 which I have owned for 15 years. It is in original condition (not painted) but the paint is chipped/worn. Mechanically it is very good with a perfect clutch (expensive to replace/fix), a quiet headstock, and it has turned most of the parts for my Fowler rebuild. 50" bc, fixed and travelling steadies, 3 jaw chuck. I was intending to sell for around £1500.
I hope to be in a position to sell it by the end of June.
Cheers Carl.

Hi Carl

That sounds perfect! I've made this thread on behalf of a machinist I know and will ask him whether he can hold on for another month or so, I imagine he will.

Thanks

Nick

Carl, would you happen to have any photo's of it? I assume it is the one in your restoration thread? Or do you have more than one lathe?

Cheers

Nick
