Harewood - Leeds Steam Rally Cancelled!

Hello everyone,

As you may have read in the Steam press Harewood House in Leeds have decided to pull this years Steam Rally due to it not being profitable enough for them.

After many years of partnership between Harewood and the Leeds and District Traction Engine Club they have decided instead to have a Family Fun Weekend over the August Bank Holiday and of such we are going to have find a new venue and make the move.

What I'm pleased to announce is that plans are well underway to find a new venue and those exhibitors who came last year should have already been communicated this change in circumstances.

So until we have signed the official agreements with the proposed new location I would ask all those interested in attending to please keep there diaries free for the same time over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, 28th & 29th August 2011.

As and when more information becomes available it will be communicated to you all via here, the steam press and carrier bird if we have to.

If any one has any questions please do not hesitate to ask and I will help as much as I can.

Kind regards,

Oliver Maslin

Harewood - Leeds Steam Rally Cancelled!

Good evening Chris,

We have found a site in Pontefract but we are waiting to complete on contracts as yet.

Until we have a firm contract in place I'm not in a position to confirm or deny that the rally will be in Pontefract.

Lets just say were are nearly there and keep the date free.

More details will follow as soon as I can tell you all.

Kind regards
Ollie

Will you be taking any new exhibitors (miniature steam section) Pontefract not far from us so would be ideal?

Cheers

Harewood - Leeds Steam Rally Cancelled!

Good morning everyone,

We have entered in contract negotiations with Farmer Copleys who have a very nice site and are very keen to hold a steam event. We have found them very obliging and further details will be posted as soon as I can tell you more.

We would like to have as strong a steam contingent as possible. Whilst numbers are still be finalised I cannot give firm answers on numbers as of yet but if you would like to attend the event, the more the merrier.

We have a committee meeting this evening and I will be pleased to report back tomorrow to you all of any news that I have.

Thanks all for the interest so far, bare with us. We just want to make 100% sure we have dotted the eyes and crossed the t's.

That's all for now,

Ollie Maslin
