We were going but then realised it clashed with our Autumn holiday. I'd give them a ring. When I spoke to them a couple of months ago the Manager's wife gave the impression that the more miniatures the merrier! From experience in previous years most engines do a road run round the town too.

Oh bum, she's not road licensed yet*cry I filled out all the papers without realising they would need an inspection at chelmsford, i've got no more time off work so i had to put them on hold until next year :(:(

I guess you are going for age related plates? I drove to Chelmsford a few weeks ago on a Friday evening with my passport, boiler certs and insurance and had a Q plate within 20 minutes. No inspection, no hassle :D

Anyway, there is plenty of room to drive a 4" around the museum site without having it road registered so you have no excuse!

Here's a link to the museum's 'photo gallery of the 2009 event, it even has a link to a page where you can contact them to register for this year:

In that case just fill out a V55 at the office and get a Q plate. I found them incredibly organised and helpful but I guess YMMV. 55 pounds later and... tada! I'm on the road!

will be there with my burrell as always.

the admin side of the event is a bit slack to say the least, so you may not get any paper work back.

nice end of the season little due.
