i am writing to tell you about clay mills victorian pumping station it has 26 Stationery engines in steam. including four beam engines by gimson Of Leicester 1885 which two of the four are in steam and the four are the second biggest in England also,a steam powered dynamo house,victorian steam workshop ,blacksmith's shop and five lancashire boilers. it is a great day out for the family. steaming dates 4th and 5th april 2nd and 3rd may 30th and 31st may 29th and 30th august 25th and 26th september 16th and 17th october 2nd and 3rd january 2011 admission adults £4.00 child £2.00 concession £3.00 family £10.00 non steaming open days 19th and 20th june 10th and11th july 24th and 25th july 11th and12th september heritage open days open every thursday and saturday 10am until 5pm it is free to get in on a open day but donations welcome claymills pumping engines trust ltd claymills victorian pumping station meadow lane stretton burton upon trent staffordshire DE13 ODA TEL 01283 509929 web www.claymills.org.uk cheers tom |
