Does anyone have a woodturning lathe they would like to dispose of? I would like one for a friend who wishes to take up this rewarding past time. Cash waiting for the right tool.

I would buy an old engineers metal lathe, they are much easier to find and much better built. You can adapt them to do anything a wood lathe can do. Just a thought.

good advise, but nothing beats a wadkin RS, mines the long bed rs and will turn 10 ft. sadly its not for sale but look on ebay under wadkin and theres usually some on there. Mine was ex williams F1 team pattern dept!
