1000 Stationary Engine Rally.

Held over the weekend of 21st and 22nd June at Astle Park, Cheshire, it was good to see full size steam engines attend this event once more; such as the splendidly restored 1919 10hp Marshall portable "Doris".

The tractor section was one of the best in the area, with unusual examples such as the 1931 Baker from Swanton, Ohio.

But of course the main interest is in the stationary engines such as this 1910 7.5hp Hornsby gas engine.

a very very rare Atkinson cycle engine. the linkage means that the piston travels 4 cycles to one revolution of the crank.
