Model engineer taps and dies

I don't suppose anyone has a set of model engineer (UNEF) taps and dies they wish to part with?

All the best

This could be confusing; ME (model engineer) taps and dies are not the same as UNEF.

Some UNEF will work, but are not quite correct.

I am away from home at the moment so cannot check which but I will say that SOME UNEF threads are so very near to the Model Engineer threads that they will thread together. The theoretical disadvantage is that ME threads are, supposed to be 55 degree angle and the UNEF threads are 60 degree. Obviously, it is better NOT to mix the two, but if it is a Friday night and you want to sort a problem out so you can steam at the show on Saturday then such a mix may be a necessary evil. Hope this is encouraging.
