To, at and from The Long Shop

I was afraid I was overdoing posting pictures on here, but I met a regular TTer at The Long Shop Mothering Sunday Steam-Up and he encouraged me to keep going. (Thanks mate!) So here are my best efforts from the weekend, showing Garrett 7hp agricultural 'Felsted Belle' roading the 30 odd miles from her quarters at Bressingham to Leiston and back, with a few pictures of the event in between.

At Stradbroke in Suffolk.

Near Laxfield.

Checking the dinner at The White Horse in Badingham. (Note to all smokebox cooks: the blast from a single, pulling well uphill, can play havoc with baking foil.)

Spring scene at Middleton Moor.

Near Leiston Abbey.

At the steam-up. They must have dropped something!

There was a parade through Leiston. Here's The Joker justifying its colloquial nickname 'Old Coming as it Went'.

The museum's 10 ton Garrett roller 'Consuelo Allen'.

Down Leiston High Street.

Wallis Advance roller no. 7909 of 1927 was also there.

As were these lovely miniature Garretts.

Felsted Bell on her way home, near Dennington.

Outside Dennington Primary School, where a very pleasant teacher asked us to wait while she got the children out to have a look, always a great thing to do. However I wasn't allowed to take any pictures, as I hadn't got the parents' permission. It's a funny old world.

Back in Stradbroke, to find the pub is shut on Mondays.

Within sight of the Horseshoes at Billingford - also shut on Mondays.

Another two good runs for 'The Belle', with a nice, friendly event in between. The Long Shop is well worth a visit, even on non steam days.
Bill.

Thanks as ever for a splendid set of candid pictures
Your skills at telling a story through your images is to be commended
Please continue as I for one really enjoy the presentation
Cheers Martin
( ps any of my new toy ? You would like to share ?)

Thanks Martin. I'm afraid I only took 'steamy' pictures. However I've pinched this from F***b**k. (Hope there aren't copyright issues.)

It's a great little car. Hope you have lots of fun with it.
Incidentally, the Long Shop F***b**k page now has a load more photos from their Mothering Sunday 'Do'. They are rather more professional than mine.
Bill.

Bill, I like the pictures, and yours are very good quality. Do not worry that you may have posted too many, the pics are the best bit on TT.

Great photos - thanks

Is the Felsted Belle privately own or own by Bressingham?

The Idle Fellow 3rd April 2019 07:50 AM

The Felsted Belle is privately owned and just housed at Bressingham for convenience.
Bill.
