A glorious day there today,. A very tight site, so no movement other than the miniatures.

I've be going to steam events man and boy since 1967, and have photographed over 1500 engines, yet I still saw one I'd never seen before (Burrell 2770) at this event. Excellent!

Arfursteam 14th May 2019 10:03 AM

Likewise Bob I had not photographed it before.

Looks like sale day at the auction!

Arthur,
Did you photograph any miniatures whilst there?
Simon

Apologies - might help if I had read on a bit further first!!
Simon

It was sold by Preston Services. They listed it as
"A rear sprung general purpose engine supplied new 1905, this Burrell has never been rallied and just been completely rebuilt to a very high standard throughout."
so that's probably why.

Bill.

Was that it's first outing with the new owners?

elijahbell 17th May 2019 01:17 PM

Yes I believe that was the case, this season is the first season of rallying - It's next event will be Stonham Barns, and then Strumpshaw. It's a fabulous engine, goes as well as it looks, and is certainly a welcome addition to the East Anglian scene.

The Idle Fellow 17th May 2019 08:05 PM

Sorry Bob, only just looked at the computer since yesterday. I think it was the first 'public appearance' for 2770 - 'The Colonel'.
Bill.

For some reason, Elijah's reply didn't show up till after I had posted my comment.
Bill.
