I would imagine that you could work this out by measuring up the parts which you actually have , with them assembled on the engine . The critical dimensions will be the radius , from the pivot point of the lever to the raised position of the latch , and the movement of the reach rod when moving the link from full gear ahead to full gear reverse . Allow for the thickness of the lever itself . Have a stab at this on paper , full size if you can , then if you have a jigsaw try a mock up in plywood . Once you have the whole thing assembled with the plywood quadrant , then you can see any errors and correct them . And go and look at the bits on a similar Aveling if you can .
If you put your whereabouts on your details on your post , then you would be a lot more likely to have an offer of help locally . |
PM me for my phone No . and I will talk you through making one from measurements of what you have .

Bob is right in saying that if we know where you are this might well help getting access to a C Type roller to see it for yourself and get the dimensions or a rubbing to draw the parts.

Perhaps not relevant in your case, but long ago I had a bit to do with a Marshall roller which had been fitted with an Aveling tender. There were a number of sausage shaped slotted mounting holes in the tender and it was a bit of ajigsaw puzzle to replace the quadrant into a place where the links ( She was a little compound) moved with full travel in both directions. and notched up appropriately. Have fun. ! Regards David POwell.
