Went today, and saw some interesting machines. below is a photo of one of the oldest there, and I believe the one of these was a skid unit for one of their chain track tractors.

A very interesting machine, which was at the Onslow Park show a couple of years ago, effectively a 'stationary' engine on wheels ( if that isn't a contradiction). Britian's first practical tractor was said to be the 1902 Ivel, so, presumably, the Ruston wasn't very practical. £500 must have been a lot of money in 1897. Thanks for posting.

My folks with Phil Clements and teapot, 1894 Marshall 23803, then paul duxbry's drum and robin drury's bailer (i think the drum and bailer i've got right!)
