Yes we're going as well, it's a lovely weekend, you'll really enjoy it!

Jerry darch's 1920's sentinel standard is up there ready for the weekend, then on to blandford

It varies every year to be honest, depending on who's roading to Dorset etc. Last year there were about half a dozen engines plus some commercials as well. All very good fun though and they do a fab breakfast Sunday morning!

We went past Drusillas today and saw 8 engines there, Wallis oilbath roller, Fowler ploughing engine, Fowler crane engine 'Duke ok York', Burrell showmans 'King George VI', Wallis Advance roller, Robey traction engine, Sentinel wagon (mentioned earlier in the thread) and a Fowler roller. On the way back we also saw Colin Knight's Foden wagon on the back of a lowloader on its way.
Last year I counted 15 engines there, 1 miniature and some vinatge lorries

How many engines normally attend this event please?

I only found out about it when it had already happened as i stayed in a caravan site 5 mins away but I didnt arrive until the following tuesday.

chief polisher 8th September 2009 07:27 PM

I think I counted 16 engines plus a couple of diesel rollers and commercial vehicles. they had live bands outside in a tent friday and saturday night with bbq & hog roast. and was packed saturday night.

Matt
