steaming my way 27th July 2009 11:28 AM

Brilliant rally, was probably one of the best ones ive been to this year, the working area was always busy and there were lots of people always watching which is good. The introduction of a play pen was a good idea, as it seemed to be packed with people all afternoon when i visited on Saturday. Well done to the organisers

Action is definately the way forward. Sitting boiling water has had its day.

We had an excellent weekend, playing with full size engines, miniatures and Mamods! Some really good weather and a brilliant turn out of exhibits from all sections, with lots of them working.
A bit unpredictable at times, with the slightly deformed chinchila turing up (long story!) and the Saturday night being quite entertaining (another long story!)
Will try and load up some pictures at some point.

Shame I missed what looked a good rally. Anyone got any idea whether Foden 3210 will be attending any other rallies this year and if so which ones?

chief polisher 27th July 2009 06:36 PM

The last time I went to Netley Marsh Steam Rally was about 83/84. must get back down some time, but I remember it as the First Steam Rally I ever went to, and got the bug!!

Regards

Matt

What a great show

This is my 1st Netley, and also my first rally as an exhibitor, and what a great time we had. I must confess that getting my entry in was fun as they could not decide what category my roller should be in, but after a few phone calls it was confirmed that I had been accepted.

I would like to say that the committe members were so helpful (Danny & Rob), and nothing was too much trouble ......... Well done to you all, your hard work has definately paid off ....... See you next year, and also at Great Dorset if you are going :D

But I do have to confess that at this stage I am a 'diesel doll' , as not able to afford steam ....yet, but working on it !!!! ;) My passion is rollers, in all shapes and sizes and at present own a Greens Griffin and Greens DRX both from 1948. However, gong to keep saving up and maybe one day I can be there too.
