Looking forward to it - just hope the weather is an improvement over last years, which is why I didn't make it!

Cygnus X-1 26th June 2009 05:33 PM

I also missed last years show because of the weather and hope this year things turn out better , very good event .
Is the figure of 80+ engines made up of full size and minature ?

This is a worthwhile question. I attended a ralley that stated 60 engines, and greater than 50% (32 of 60) were minatures. This was very dissappointing. Nothing wrong with the small ones, and I admire the engineering skills that goes into making them, just that I was expecting 60 full size jobs.

Tractor lad 28th June 2009 08:32 PM

Understand a mixture of both so should be a good turn out.

steammart 28th June 2009 09:25 PM

I understand there is over 40 full size expected and over 30 miniatures expected, hope the weather holds out!

jamiepreston 28th June 2009 09:38 PM

Dont think it could get much worse than last year

Hi,
We'll be there with our Sentinel and Fowler K5. Duncombe park is always a great rally, a lovely spacious field and a brilliant setting. A good variety of exhibits and an all round good small rally.

We're sunburnt from being there yesterday.

Cygnus X-1 5th July 2009 07:04 PM

Really good day out , excellent selection of engines , probably the best I have seen at Duncombe Park .
The President looked and sounded great when working with the McLaren in the haulage area.
Fowler " Phoenix " is new to me along with Fowler "Bonnie" , nice roller .

SentinelBob 5th July 2009 10:12 PM

Reckon Duncombe park was about spot on this year. It has been a brilliant weekend with a good friendly atmosphere and a good variety of exhibits, the weather was perfect and there was only one shower to speak of today. A fantastic drive home too, that coal may have been smokey but we didn't half shift on the way back, more steam than we knew what to do with.
I've hard a rumour that next years will be back at Castle Howard, where it was some years ago, is there anything in that?

Andy myers 6th July 2009 07:51 AM

Great rally this year.. first time we've been with the engine, and we want to go back!

Andy
