Unfortunately not it is a static show only

Just back from steam at the riverside. Nice little do. However the program left a lot to be desired, seems everything listed including stall holders but not one engine listed in the program.

For anyone intrested in steam it was appropriate that the program sponsor was the NFU

Think it stood for No F***ing Use

craigctt 18th April 2009 03:49 PM

Anyone no what price the engines brought and also the living van with the mollycroft roof ?.

Maverick 18th April 2009 04:25 PM

How many engines made it to the rally?
Is there many miniatures?
Is there a decent fairground (just thinking of the kids while I look at engines)?

Thanks

Mav

I have just got home and looked at my program for the first time since I bought it at the rally, I thought you must have got it wrong and surely the engines will be listed somewhere.
But no not one of them is listed how bizarre is that.
Thats another quid wasted then.

On a better note, I did think for a first attempt the rally was pretty good, it had just the right balance of exhibit variety and stalls etc to keep most people entertained for a couple of hours.
If the organisers are reading this, then well done to you, but I would be interested to hear why no engines were in the program, is it possible to publish the list on here ??

Really good season opener , plenty to see and grea weather .
One or two steam engines there that I've not come across before which is always nice , very good commercial vehicle section many of which I have not seen before , again very welcome.
Good facilities on site , definetely a show that I will visit and recommend.
I hope someone buys the McLaren and gets it rallied , soon.

On behalf of the four organisers of this event my sincere apologies for the error in the programme. It wasnt just the steam section that was missing, bur also the tractors. The writer who begrudges the £ 1 that he lost will most certainly be re-imbursed if he sends me his details.

Whilst writing can I thank the TT members that helped with the steam section it was much appreciated. On behalf of all the charities that will benefit from the event our sincere thanks to all the patrons and exhibitors

Many thanks

Alan Atkinson, John Johnson, Peter Wareing & William Hunter
