Whipsnade Miniature Road Run
This coming sunday(16th November) a small group of Herts Steam Club members are having a short road run for miniature engines from Whipsnade Zoo outside car park to the Old Hunters Lodge public house(approx 1 mile). We should be on the road around 11am ish, some nice hills for the engines to climb in both directions at present we have 6 engines, if anyone local wishes to join us please PM me for info and of course all spectators are more than welcome. As the car park is shut to public, the gates will only be opened for engines etc. Lets hope the weather stays fine.

Shouldn't you be at home fitting your new tubes? Matt |

I will hopfully have all the tubes removed on Saturday, then have to get the boiler inspector in before I fit the new ones. So play time on Sunday :D |
Well what can you believe. Metcheck gives ligt rain for Sunday and the Met Office gives a nice day. Think i will pack the waterproofs when i load up tomorrow. Hoping to have both the Roller and the Allchin there on Sunday. See you there.

My engine's having some work done on it at the moment so no steaming for 'Madeline'. Hope to get to the pub by lunchtime.

Finally finished getting ready for tomorrow. Got the Allchin out and filled the tender to find a leak by the gear cover. when i took the top off the tender i found the nut missing from the gear cover bracket, fixed this and got the bowser out to find i had a puncher so i have had the wheel off and the inner tube out, the morning will tell if this is fixed as well.
see you in the morning. P.S. is Emma taking the pictures? |

Great video's Kev, count me in next year, that looked like some hill no wonder the spuds were over done, did you go back the same way? going down that will my test my boiler mangement skills on the 3". Looked like Roy's had plenty of coal on!
I do love stuarts roller - what's traction like on it? Matt |

Who is Roy ? |
Excellent videos Kev. the Roller has good grip on the road and was towing 20 gallons of water and a bag of coal with ease, it is surprisingly fast and a bit of a handful with a full head of steam, it also sounds just right on the road. Like all rollers it objects to wet rally fields and cow pats!
