Marshall cross arm governor parts
Hi all
Have started a thread in the technical section but I thought I would also put something in wanted! I'm after any cross arm governor parts, I have got the vertical shaft the balls and all the linkage that go with the balls. but I am missing the bottom bearing the upstand that goes on top of the main ways shaft bracket casting, particularly need a spring or the details of a spring to get some made! All so drawing! Thanks Chris |

Yes, definitely, would make sense to get a few Springs made |
I would reccommend Tested Springs , very helpful and spot on .

Chris, I know nothing at all about Marshalls, but don't they just have a Pickering Governor like other engines. Besides the cast housing is a 4 bolt square fixing instead of a round fixing ?. In a box of governor parts I have, I'm sure there's a cast square based housing and someone once told me it was for a Marshall.

I have just dismantled my set , the spring wire is 106 to 110 thou diameter , 1+3/8" or 1325 thou outside diameter , 8" long , with coil pitch of 1/2" or 2 coils per inch , and closed ends .

Hi Chris, I am looking to make a guvnor valve for Ben Lomond as it is currently missing. I am looking for a drawing for a 7nhp compound. However my guvernor itself is complete and if it is the same as what you have I can send photos? Cheers. Matt

Hi all
Alan has done some amazing drawing for me (Very much appreciated) his engine is the earlier design, I have noted the pulley on the cross arm is different to the later design, the earlier type seam to have "sides" to keep the belt on and no crown, the late type has no sides and a crown, Am thinking the later type is going to be the same diameter as the old type just minus the sides? Can any one tell me the diameter of the pulley on the late type of pulley Thanks for help Chris |
