Roxton Park Steam Rally 1970

Sorry, it's just 45½ years late.

If anyone can identify the remaining engines that would be very welcome, as would any other relevant information.

Great to see all those engines still on strakes....

Loved Roxton Park, and I would have been there, would have been 12ish. I have some pic's from that period, but sadly have had to go into storage, so not easy to get too.

The ploughing engine at the start is the late Bill Colebrooke's AA , ex Lord Rayleigh's estates and Keelings , going by Bill's Yankee style hat , uncommon in those days .

Thanks for those pictures. Happy days - 15 years old at the time, used to go with Dad.

The Fowler roller is Reg Saunders roller, the first engine which started Saunders steam collection, the A & P roller, I presume the T and J are Ted and John Saunders?, Reg's sons who took on the mantle and expanded the collection. Not sure if they still have the A & P, others on here will tell you, but the Fowler looks no different but a lot older.

Maybe not. The one at Roxton does not have double tee ring front wheels but does have belly tanks which 15771 does not.

It is indeed Duchess, ex Albury Park in Guildford. No. 15466

It wasnt rotting when I last stood on it. It was nicely sheeted. But as noted, it isn't that one

Thanks to everyone who has suggested IDs.
I believe it should be Bill Colebrook (no 'e') and that makes the ploughing engine 13880/1917.
Can anyone confirm that the Saunders roller is then Fowler 17560/1929?

It's worth bearing in mind that very few engines were roaded in the '70's, far fewer than today, and those that were didn't go very far.

Thanks.

Apologies for being a bit late responding to this one, Fowler 15466 is safely tucked away in a shed not a million miles away from me, photos did appear in Old Glory July and October 2009 in John Crawleys column 'early preservation files' showing her on strakes and painted maroon as in these photos.
