I've never seen one for Australian register.

'The Australian Steam Engine Listing' was published by the New South Wales Steam Preservation Co-operative Society Limited produced in 1978 compiled by Brian Burke and John Norris. It is similar to the early versions of the Traction Engine Register but does not give locations.I don't know if it was ever revised, updated or reprinted. I hope this helps.

I've done a bit of research to find that 'Campbell Steam & Machinery Museum ' is operated by New South Wales etc.. Their web site is www.csmm.com.au , e-mail csmm.info@gmail.com . There is no suggestion of publications however an email may clarify what they have available, if any.

Australia and New Zealand are in fact different countries. There are early preservation publications of registers for both. The Australian one is so out of date that it isn't of that much use. You will find half the engines are in England now anyway.

So they were a bit of shopping list, then. LOL

I was told that's why they stopped producing them.

I've got copies of both and they are a lot of omissions - trawling through TT/online would give you a more accurate list I think.

Not forgetting much more difficult than producing a GB TER though.

David I have entries in my records going back to the late 1970s and just want to check on numbers etc, I have gone thru most TT posts and still trawling internet!!! as with british owners its a never ending job to keep up

tiny 15th September 2015 01:13 PM

Andrew I know Australia and New Zealand are separate countries! so hope to get a copy of each in the future to keep my records as straight as possible
