It did wander if that was you Dan, lovely miniature. I'll make sure to say hi next time.

solheim 12th October 2014 08:42 PM

thanks,
you should of said hi, that was one of my first proper outings with her.
Is that it for this year around our way?

cocky_1987 13th October 2014 12:06 PM

Always seems to be a bit quiet down here over the autumn/winter down here. Usually a steam up at the Goodwin's in St Columb around Christmas time. If there's anything else I'd be interested to have a look too!

Sadly no one took up the Harvest Home mantle. Steve Syms put on a great do that was becoming a favourite after just two years, such a shame some one moaned....

hertfordshire boy 13th October 2014 02:04 PM

is this event by invite only?

solheim 13th October 2014 04:12 PM

No it was open to the public over the weekend

Pedlers mate 13th October 2014 06:45 PM

Was Rocket only there for one weekend? Does anyone know what will be running on 22nd October?

solheim 13th October 2014 07:00 PM

I think it was only there for the weekend, you could give them a ring and find out.

It WAS held for two years, 2013 and 2012 only. Steve and his team put on a fantastic, informal working weekend but then, through no fault of theirs, it was decided to give it a rest for a while. There are photos taken and posted on here from 2012 in the show reports section. Try searching 'Harvest Home'

No I heard a advert on the radio and rang them up seeing if they wanted one.

Scooby, last years was sadly the last, after some complaints it was decided to quit while they were ahead. A great shame.
We can only hope someone else will arrange a similar do some where in Cornwall.

00000 16th October 2014 01:33 PM

Was there more people that liked it than complained?....

stefan mlynek 16th October 2014 06:49 PM

Yes, for sure!!

00000 16th October 2014 07:41 PM

Then why did they bow down to the minority that complained?! There's too much of this going on, stopping whole events because one or two busybodys like the sound of there own voices. If they don't like it, don't go!

Jim, it involved a warning from the police aswell,

Steve

Jim, it is so simple :- i as the named organiser of said show ( harvest home ) i activly encouraged persons to travel over a 10 ton axiel weight limet bridge, knowing that they were very much over the stated weight. photo's of some of these engines were sent to the police who then contacted me, and gave me a friendly warning !!! The same persons i guess reported a couple of vintage tractors on the way to the event, the two young boys ended up in court !!! By the way the youngsters got away with all charges !!!

So, even tho the event was going from strength to strength, why would i want to bother again ? All i hope is that the person or person's who did the reporting are happy !!!

Steve.

Pedlers mate 18th October 2014 09:15 PM

The real losers in all this are the charities the event supported. Let's just hope the detractors are never in need of the charities they have let down.

00000 19th October 2014 05:50 PM

Who took the photo's though?! Busybody's!
