I forgot to ask the crew, but what was the winding bollard used for on the flywheel of the unpainted/unlagged Aveling roller?

John, I think it was so you could use it to lift tar barrels on a tar boiler's davett crane.

I think it worked in a boatyard and was used for pulling boats out of the water

Brilliant rally. We made sure we were down on holiday to include this weekend and we are very glad we did. Well done to all those involved for putting on a cracking show.

Had a brilliant weekend with Exclesior, the highlight of which was taking the granite trailer around the estate on the Saturday morning, my first experience of heavy haulage! As always a great event, loads of photos, so please take a look at the link below.
