Market Bosworth miniature engine weekend
Managed to pop in to this event this afternoon for an hour. It was good to catch up with a few TT'ers and to meet some new faces, there were a good number and variety of engines with plenty of room for them to stretch their legs. Add the standard-gauge railway running alongside the site and it's definitely a weekend worth visiting. For those less interested in engines there is a picturesque market town (with farmer's market this morning) and the battlefield site (best accessed from Shenton station, just down the line). Here are a few photos from today, a bit cloudy but hope you enjoy them anyway.

Thank you to everyone that attended and I look forward to seeing you all again next year! :) |
Yes great weekend, thanks Sam, and weather turned out good. First rally for my GMT, also took my Fowler Z7. Here are a couple more photos I took of my engine. Had a nice run up to town center, up hill with trailer on back, 4 persons and Ricks dog.

The highlight of my day both days at the rally is to have the pleasure of getting the engines into the Goods Shed Square to perform the 2pm daily WHISTLE UP featuring everything in steam...The video below was taken from "Mary Marshall" during Sunday's very good effort at blowing Market Bosworth down!! :)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/waaQLdzxuv4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And, that's about it from us folks, my date for 2015 is April 25th/26th...any engine welcome. Please join us if you wish and we guarantee a warm welcome and lots & lots of whistling! :D |
Brilliant weekend Sam. Really enjoyed ourselves! Many thanks for having us.

Hi guys. A final word before this thread heads off into history. As I say next years date is April 25th/26th 2015. I am already on my early searches for exhibits so you may spot me at a rally or two during the season. If anyone has anything or any engine that they would like to bring, or consider bringing, in 2015 then please do let me know, drop me a line and we'll have a chat. Working displays, whatever the display, are wanted again in 2015 and if anyone has a miniature steam roller you would be welcomed with open arms! Kindest Regards, Sam - proud organiser of the little rally at Bosworth. See you all next year

Great post, it's encouraged me to get on with my 4" Durham.
