Firebar's Bonfire 2013

What a great weekend we had at the invitation of Mr & Mrs Firebar. They seem to attract a great crowd of lovely people. There were plenty of engines moving about and the road run to the pub in the rain, between the showers, was a real highlight. We baked bread 'al fresco' and enjoyed the many savoury delights that people had brought along. Special thanks must go to Chef Bill who conjured up epicurial delights from his field kitchen.

Great pictures thanks for sharing. I particularly like the one of everyone gathered around the Wolseley engine.

A very nice weekend, plenty of people to talk to and good food although bread production was outstripped by demand for a while !. did the spit bang ever burst into life ? there where rather a lot of "experts" looking at it over the two days !!.

A pic I took later on Sunday !.

We raised £86.23 for Hope House Hospice. We will top it up.

Thanks very much for your generosity folks. Much appreciated.

And another £20 to the total divinely delivered this morning - thanks again.

There was a short video clip of the DG6 on here some time back, coming from the Hanmer Arms i was amazed by its turn of speed & acceleration.
