It was a very enjoyable rally.
I only made it there sat evening so didn't see much but the atmosphere in the beer tent was very good and the drinks kept flowing well into sunday morning.

I recomend it to anyone who enjoys a laid back rally.
Same time, same place every year. You can't miss it.

It was a really good rally all round except for the rain from the previous week which made it a little muddy in places. This made the arena a bit soft so only the main stretch of road was used. This still allowed for one game to be played 'Judge the width' and I think that because this was the only game there was a bit of extra rivalry between engine drivers on measurments!
Saturday night proved a good laugh with 20 engines taken up the New Inn, proved a bit too much for some local residents to cope with and the traffic conducting skills of some were put to the test.
But hey considering the weather it was a fantatsic weekend and a proper start to the summer events!

I see that Ruth Atkinson's Fowler has a colonial arse end on it . Should this be known as a BUMKER , and will they become fashionable for burning wood ??

mark lewis 3rd June 2008 02:37 PM

The fowler roller on the top looks spot on.

Coal Miner 3rd June 2008 02:43 PM

Great pictures of some very interesting engines, the Garrett road loco is particularly impressive.
Barry.

steaming my way 3rd June 2008 03:16 PM

anyone got any pics of the road run ?

Fowlers are the best 3rd June 2008 07:25 PM

Looks like there is lots of engines there in shall we say 'authentic' clothes. I think it is nice to see them like that.

Sam.

The K7's used to be local engines to me and I can remember being on them quite a bit as a child. I haven't seen them for well over 10 years but they were exactly as I remember despite having had extensive boilerwork and looking fantastic:

First you need to be in the supporters club by donating, then see the "how to" section.

mark lewis 5th June 2008 10:52 AM

Or
1) Create a free photobucket account at www.photobucket.com
2) Then upload your pictures onto the website and select a size and I use 640x480 as the size
3) Then you can either use the IMG code on the photobucket website or the image icon on here.
Or alternativly you could email them to someone else to post
If you have any problems give ne a shout and ill do my best to try and help
Hope this is of some help
Mark
