This engine was bought back from New Zealand some years ago, before the NZ government banned the export of historic artifacts. It is No.2696 of 1904 and named 'The Maori'. The number on the end of the running board is, I believe, it's New Zealand registration No.

I was wondering what it meant when I was stood at the side of it. All makes sense now, thanks.
It was nice to see quite a big percentage of the engines in their works colours, especially the Fowlers.

That burrell K5, i get the impression that is was designed as a 'small' ploughing engine, hence the extension to move the axel forward and make room for the drum. Is this something like or am i miles off?

Nostall was a great event this year a good selection of engines including Princess Mary in her usual splendor ;-) notable events include mr pentland queen pulling all the air cables off the wagon (oops) and the road runs to the pub behind my house. roll on next year.
