The Great Wall of Wales, with check points on every road... lol I don't have a passport so am going to try my chances going underground.

8_10 Brass Cleaner 3rd May 2013 08:30 AM

I wouldn't worry boys, Llandudno is well known for being a haunt of well off geriatrics, mostly English who have 'retired' to the seaside.

keithcat 3rd May 2013 08:50 AM

Never been before but might be coming as vistors. Are there any bits to avoid and what is the car parking like?

Parking in the town is quite difficult if you aren't there early - they get a lot of people. There is a park and ride on an old bus from the transport festival into the town centre which we used last year.

West Shore is also much Quieter, and only a short hop from the fair.

You're lucky, I only had one father! Or perhaps you meant 'fore-fathers' ;)

Went today as missed last years....visitor numbers seemed very much up, but couldn't help feeling the few engines that were there had been pushed to one side?? More of a funfair with hints of Victoriana rather than a Victorian fair?? that said though very enjoyable day, especially if you were my 5 year old :)

Hi tez,

Both Scotland and Wales have their own Assemblies to decide their own laws thus both countries are part of the Former United Kingdom or FUK for short!

Well, I am home after a lovely weekend, weather was fine although a little cold compared to the East, but in all it was a good event. Many people turned up and this made taking photo's a little hard, and were part of the pictures.
It was a pleasure to meet up with Mr Bloor, Buzzy Bee, and Mark Lewis, it made my weekend complete. And the final icing on the cake was to be invited to Join an old friend to go on the road run around the sea front in his Scammell Highwayman, a real joy.
Here is a small selection of photo's.

Just Arrived home, good weekend, hot today!

Llandudno Rally is one of the best of the Season, Being in the town, and being able to have a decent night out too is really good.

Sorry no pictures, lots of memories though.

Nice to meet/catch up with a few people too.

davidje 6th May 2013 10:12 PM

We are still there. I only have a slow 'stick' so will post some pics. on Wednesday or Thursday when we get back home. It was a great weekend, full of fun, sun and friendship. It was good to meet old and new TT members. We went on the road runs on both nights and what a difference it was to see trucks, buses and tractors in the streets instead of on the field.

Looking forward to Anglesey. (It might just be the sun, but we might be warming to the Welsh)

rogerg 6th May 2013 10:12 PM

Hi Tez,
Im unable to attend thats why under show reports it would be nice to see photos of the events.

Roger, Davids pics will be worth waiting for, he has a good selection to add to Mr Vines excellent selection too. If you have a search on Google, you will find no end of pictures already on the net, if you want to see pics sooner. :)

steamboy 6th May 2013 11:05 PM

whats all the hyp about this event, attended it on saturday and sunday, and found it a bit of a disappointment, its just a large modern fair on the street with a hand full on old rides and and hand full of engines hidden in a side street, mainly showmans engines not even generating for their own lights. the transport festival was on the hand was brilliant show plenty to see.
