Sir William & Lady Judy Mcalpine are to hold a Steam & Vintage weekend on the 18th and 19th May 2013. This will be held on the Fawley Hill Estate. Lady Judy has asked me to pass on this information to anyone who may be interested in exhibiting. Attached (Hopefully to this text) are some details and an email address for exhibitors to make contact with the Estate and lodge your interest in attending the event. Attachment 6857

H'mm, I'm sure it will be a good event, but at £100 for a ticket for Sat I suspect the spectators will be a select bunch.

Ian. I do not no if the entrance fee quoted on the web-site is correct or not. Lady Mcalpine emailed me that the web-site had not been properly finished as yet. This is why I only posted the attachment she sent me in (word) and not the web-site, for anyone intertested in exhibiting. Hopefully I will know more in the next couple of weeks. Whatever the price I presume it will be a first come first served basis for Joe Public, with probably a limited amount of tickets available. IMO with it being a one off, it would be nice to attend either as an exhibitor or Joe Public.

Agreed!

Lady McAlpine has asked me to point out that the event ticket prices are NOT £100 - this is an inaccuracy on their web site and correct admission prices will be on the published in the new year when they have decided upon them.

Sounds like it could be really good, if it had the atmosphere of the Beaulieu rallies?

paxman man 20th November 2012 08:02 PM

I am caravanning in the area for a few days, and am planning to go on the Saturday, looks like a good event if all goes to plan.

HeritageSteam 13th May 2013 11:21 AM

Castle Firebrick will be there.

Victor Vectis 14th May 2013 02:30 PM

We're setting off to that 'North Island' tomorrow. Looks like it's shaping up for a really good show.

It's our first outing of the year, hope the engine behaves itself and the rain stays away.

Here are some that may persuade you to come along :

Renown plus gallopers and big wheel
Quo Vadis
Earl Beatty
Prospector
The Badger
plus traction engines, wagons, rollers.

There are visiting railway locos from the Festiniog, Romney Hythe and Dymchurch.
This event will be bigger than Sir Williams 70th Birthday party.

s7eam 16th May 2013 10:06 AM

Looking forward to going on Sat! Wish we where taking the roller!

steaming my way 16th May 2013 06:25 PM

Wot he said!

(As in Here Here!!)

Arfursteam 20th May 2013 04:22 PM

I agree with Roger. Had a grand time, very relaxed and easy going, enjoyed it a lot. Plenty to see and do without the yellow top brigade, it shows you can have a safe event without them.

rogsib 29th May 2013 06:36 AM

Jut had a nice email from Lady McAlpine thanking us for coming and to say due to overwhelming support and encouragement they have decided to run the vintage weekend again next year ,Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May 2014 . www.fawleyhill.co.uk
