NTET AGM Tavistock 2012

Very interesting morning spent looking around the Robey Trust. First time I've ever been and was surprised by just how much stuff they have there and the facilities they've got to work on the engines. Great to see a couple in steam and get a "fix" this late in the year too!

It was interesting to hear what people had to say at my first AGM, but it was even better to catch up with so many enthusiasts and friends. (And congratulations to the trophy winners, Pride of Somerset and garrett4cd in particular!) Would certainly consider travelling further afield next time, if only for the organised trips!

A few photos from an interesting day:

I wondered which one it was too, never found out , looks to be 5 horse.

Yes still owned by John Dyke, He was telling me the last trip he took it on before restoration, he found the crank was broken 2/3ds through where they'd welded a balance weight on! , not individual ones but a single block simmillar to Mac's. Now got a new crank with individual wieghts, plus all the boiler work.

Just for your information.................the Robey Trust has the largest single collection of Robey Engines, Archives and Artefacts anywhere in the world. The Trust is also home to the only steamable Robey Tritandem 45655/1930 in the world !
