Saturday, has always been the quieter day at most events, even in the later years with shops now open both Saturday and Sunday, However it is nice to see this almost out of sight treasure. I remember one Easter staying in our caravan, we went for a drive and I saw the entrance from the road and could not believe my eyes at the sight that I had seen, so much so, that I nearly went off the road. We turned round and went into the entrance and spoke to several members and asked if we could look round, stating our intrest, they said yes and we had a good chat with the odd few that were working on their "toy's"
It is a very nice layout that the members have, I believe that someone may have left the site to the members to store their vehicles on, maybe someone can put me right on this. I think that one of the Taylor brothers left their yard for the use by engine owners to store their engines in. Nice pictures. Mark. |
Excellent photo's, looked a nice event.

It's not a Lister - it's a Lister agents plate on a Ransomes portable.
The man is John Selway who owns this and a Garrett tractor as well. Don't know where he's been, but he does look rather oil splattered!!! Great pics David - as always. |
We dropped by for a couple or three hours this morning.
It was pandamonium there today, in a good way, probably more stuff than I have ever seen before. Typically 1882 caused a traffic jam with the McLaren on the circuit. I took but a few photos. The Wallis complete with about a tube full of silicone, not repairing yesterdays leak, I did a bit with it once with Chris Newton. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/008_0903.jpg and the very nice Allen, which is really a Fowler D2. Very nice thing. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/008_0902.jpg |

As far as I know NOTHING leaks on Mr Crampton's Wallis! Whenever I've seen it Chichester has been immaculate especially for saying it is roaded everywhere. The "leaky Wallis" may be the newly acquired one of Mr & Mrs Whittaker which will be undergoing repairs and further restoration.
